Investigations:
- Blood tests: amylase primary test
- ERCP: diagnostic and therapeutic if within 72 hours
- MRCP
- Imaging
Complications:
- Pancreatic necrosis: with/without infection
- Pseudocysts: 2-4 weeks post-presentation
- Fistulas: abdominal, pleural, peritoneal
- Thrombosis
- Haemorrhages: Turner’s sign, Cullen’s sign, Fox sign
- Systemic: DIC, sepsis, shock, ARDS, AKI, multi-organ failure
