Conservative:

• Simple analgesia
• Plenty of fluids
• Rest
• Avoid contact sports/heavy lifting for 1 month (risk of splenic rupture)

Hospital admission indicated for:

• Severe infection
• Splenic rupture
• Upper airway obstruction
