Conservative:
• Betahistine: reduces the frequency and severity of attacks Acute symptoms:
• Oral antiemetics: prochlorperazine, promethazine, cyclizine • If unable to tolerate oral medications or severe symptoms:
o IM/buccal Prochlorperazine / IM Cyclizine o hospital admission for IV fluids
Prognosis
• Can lead to complications:
• Psychosocial issues
• Falls risk
