Treatment Plan
Treatment Plan
- First line: Permethrin 5% cream
- Application: once weekly for 2 applications
- Duration: 8-12 hours per application
- All contacts require treatment
- Hygiene measures essential For resistant/crusted cases:
- Oral ivermectin
- May require specialist input
- Possible combination therapy (permethrin + ivermectin) Symptom management:
- Sedating antihistamines for sleep disruption
- Topical corticosteroids
- Amitriptyline
