TREATMENT PLAN

Mild (PUQE <6):

• Reassurance Ginger
• Acupressure

First-line medications:

• Cyclizine
• Promethazine
• Prochlorperazine
• Chlorpromazine
• Xonvea (combination medication)

Second-line medications:

• Metoclopramide (max 5 days due to extrapyramidal effects)
• Domperidone (max 7 days due to cardiac effects)
• Ondansetron (max 5 days, risk of cleft lip in first trimester)

Additional treatments:

• H2 antagonists/PPIs for reflux
• Thiamine supplementation if deficient
• Laxatives for constipation

Hospital admission criteria:

• PUQE score 7-15
• Unable to tolerate oral intake
• Signs of dehydration
• Electrolyte imbalances
• >5% weight loss
• Persistent symptoms despite primary care treatment
