Non-pregnant:
- Supportive measures
Pregnant/Immunocompromised:
- Urgent referral if confirmed case
PROGNOSIS
Complications in high-risk groups:
Fetal death in pregnancy
Maternal pre-cancer like syndrome
Transient aplastic anaemia
Pure red cell aplasia
Persistent anaemia
KEY INFORMATION
- Not a notifiable disease
- Self-limiting in healthy individuals
- Requires urgent referral in pregnancy if confirmed

- Consider concurrent rubella testing in pregnancy.
