- Inflammation of the bursa overlying the olecranon process
- Also known as the student’s elbow
Prevalence
- Most common in middle-aged or young individuals
- More common in men
ETIOLOGY
Two types:
• Non-septic: trauma, overuse, rheumatoid arthritis, gout
• Septic: infection
