Treatment Plan
Emergency referral if:
• Acute dislocation
• Septic arthritis
• Acute trauma
• Red/swollen/painful joint with systemic illness
• Sudden loss of arm movement
• Shoulder mass/swelling
Secondary care referral if:
• Post-dislocation pain >2-3 weeks
• First-time/recurrent dislocation with pain
• No improvement with physiotherapy
Conservative management:
• Simple analgesia
• Rest
• Physiotherapy
• MSK referral
• Corticosteroid injections
