Investigations
Bloods:
• HbA1c
• ESR/CRP
• Thyroid function
• Inflammatory markers
• Malignancy screen
Imaging:
- X-ray indicated if:
- Trauma history
- Symptoms >4 weeks
- No improvement with conservative treatment
- Decreased range of motion
- OA suspected
- Severe pain
Clinical tests:
• Drop arm test: positive in rotator cuff tears
• Cross-arm test: positive in acromioclavicular disorders
