Management

• Check tetanus status
• Remove sting/tick
• Consider pest control for infestations
• Localised reactions: simple analgesia, topical hydrocortisone, oral antihistamines
• Large reactions: oral corticosteroids, antihistamines
• Secondary cellulitis: oral antibiotics

Admission Criteria

• Anaphylaxis/angioedema
• Systemic toxicity
• Immunocompromised
• Oral/periorbital stings
• Failed primary care treatment
• Persistent lesions/fever from outside the UK
• Severe reactions
• Unusual bites from outside the UK
