Conservative:
- Allergen avoidance
- Cold compresses: 5-10 mins 1-2x daily
- Ocular surface lubricants: artificial saline tears
Medical treatment:
- Topical antihistamines: antazoline (contraindication in narrow angled glaucoma0
- Mast cell stabilisers: sodium cromoglycate, lodoxamide
- Combo form of the above: azelastine/epinastine
- Adjuvant: topical diclofenac (contraindicated in third-trimester pregnancy
- Risk of premature closure of ductus arteriosus) + (AE’s: pain, itching, rhinitis, blurring post application)
