• Incidence: Approximately 500 diagnosed cases per year
• Demographics: More common in children and young people
• 5-year survival rate: 62%
• Presenting symptoms:
  –     Pain & loss of function in the affected limb
• Diagnosis: X-ray may show suggestive changes
• Referral Pathways:
  • Adults: 2-week cancer pathway if X-ray shows signs of changes
  • Children and young people:
    –     Urgent referral within 48 hours if X-ray is suggestive of changes
    –     Urgent direct access X-ray within 48 hours if unexplained bony swelling or pain
