Referral Pathways

• Refer to the 2-week Cancer Referral Pathway if:
  • CXR findings are suggestive of
  • Age >40 years with Unexplained
• Offer Urgent (2-week) CXR if age ≥40 years and ≥2 (or ≥1 for smokers) of the following unexplained symptoms:
  • Cough, Shortness of breath (SOB), Chest pain, Fatigue, Fever, Weight loss,

Appetite loss

• Consider Urgent (2-week) CXR for age >40 with any of the following:
  • Persistent/recurrent chest infection, Finger clubbing, Thrombocytosis, Chest signs consistent with lung cancer, Supraclavicular/persistent cervical lymphadenopathy
