National screening programme: the sickle cell & thalassemia screening programme is done for Genetic carriers (of SCD, Thalassemia, other Hb disorders), SCD & Thalassemia, Other HB disorders
- Screening is offered too:
o Infants (when they are 5 days old) o Preg women in high & low prevalence areas o Biological fathers (if mother is carrier of SCD/Thalassemia)
