Investigations & Diagnosis
Suspect if:
- Persistent lymphadenopathy
- Glandular illness
- Immunosuppression
- Severe/prolonged/recurrent infections
- Risk factors present
- Infants: Failure to thrive, Pneumocystis pneumonia, CMV, HIV encephalopathy
- Children: Recurrent URTIs, severe infection presentation, HZV, TB, lymphadenopathy
Testing indicated:
- Antenatal screening
- New GP registrants (if no test in last 12 months & from a high prevalence area where the diagnosis rate is >2 in 1000)
- Risk factors present
- On request
