RISK FACTORS
- Female Gender
- Age >50 years
- Northern European/Scandinavian descent
SIGNS & SYMPTOMS PMR:
- Morning pain and stiffness (45 minutes duration)
- Affects pelvis, shoulders, neck
GCA:
- Temporal headaches & point tenderness
- Scalp tenderness (unilateral)
- Vessel thickening/nodularity
- Visual changes: decreased acuity, visual field changes, vision loss, Diplopia
- Jaw claudication (indicates ischemic changes)
- Features of PMR.
