TREATMENT PLAN
Q-risk <10%: – Lifestyle modifications
Q-risk >10%:
- Consider statins: usually Atorvastatin 20 mg/day
- Treat hypertension if clinically indicated
Lifestyle recommendations:
- Diet: monounsaturated fats, 5 portions of fruit/veg daily
- Legumes/seeds: 4-5 portions weekly
- Fish: 2 portions weekly
- Fibre: 30-45g daily
- Alcohol: max 14 units weekly
- Exercise: 150 mins moderate or 75 mins vigorous activity weekly
- Strength training: 2+ sessions weekly
KEY INFORMATION
Health checks offered 5-yearly between the ages of 40-74 – 10% risk threshold for statin consideration.
