- Prolonged skin contact with urine and faeces
- Friction from nappy
- Excessive skin hydration
- Poor hygiene
RISK FACTORS
Infrequent nappy changes
Non-absorbent/non-breathable nappies
- Alcohol-based wipes
- Diarrhoea
- Antibiotics
- Poor drying technique
