INVESTIGATIONS & DIAGNOSIS
- Clinical diagnosis based on symptoms
- Public health notification is required within 3 days
TREATMENT PLAN
- Conservative management:
- Rest
- Adequate fluid intake
- Simple analgesia
- Isolation: 5 days from symptom onset (same as rubella)
MMR vaccination if unimmunised (contraindicated in pregnancy and immunocompromised)
