Ophthalmia Neonatorum: Conjunctivitis that occurs in 1st 4 weeks of life. If there is no redness in the eye, then it should settle within 1st year of life – treat it as nasolacrimal duct obstruction = do massaging. If there is redness, they need SAME DAY ASSESSMENT with swabs & treatment is required (40% are linked to Chlamydia, also linked to HSV & N. Gonorrhoea).
