- If there is no eye involvement (i.e. red eye) then oral acyclovir – 800mg 5x a day
- 70% develop Hutchinson’s signs (spread to nose tip), making eye involvement more likely. In such cases, prescribe viral medication and refer IMMEDIATELY!!
