- Same-day ophthalmology assessment required
- Topical acyclovir 3% five times daily
- Continue treatment until 3 days after complete resolution of the dendritic ulcer
Prognosis
Complications:
- Corneal scarring
- Corneal perforation
- Vision loss
- Secondary infections (bacterial/fungal)
- Secondary glaucoma
- Systemic infections
