- Deep retraction pockets +/- ventilation
- Skin/tissue debris
- Keratin accumulation
- Possible tympanic membrane perforation
INVESTIGATIONS & DIAGNOSIS
- Otoscopy: identify tympanic membrane appearance
- Assess for acute otorrhoea
- Mastoid examination
