< 3 months:

• Urgent MSU
• Admit for IV antibiotics

> 3 months:

Dipstick interpretation:

• Leukocytes & nitrites positive: treat with antibiotics
• Both negative: no MSU/antibiotics, consider differential
• Leukocytes positive, nitrites negative: send MSU, treat if symptomatic
• Leukocytes negative, nitrites positive: start antibiotics, send culture
