Treatment Plan and Prognosis
TREATMENT PLAN
• Test for H. pylori
- If H. pylori is positive, treat it accordingly
- If H. pylori-negative: low dose PPI or H2 receptor antagonist for 1 month
• If refractory: retest for H. pylori
• Consider extending treatment for another month if needed
• Long-term PPI may be considered if required
PROGNOSIS
• If untreated, symptoms can persist >1 year
