DEFINITION
- Postnatal care: care provided to mother and baby within the first 8 weeks after birth
- Focus: maternal aspects
SIGNS & SYMPTOMS
- Complications to monitor:
- Anal injuries: associated with faecal incontinence
- Pre-eclampsia, eclampsia o DVT, VTE o Sepsis
- Postpartum psychosis symptoms
- Postpartum haemorrhage complications: IDA, fatigue, orthostatic hypotension, depression
