Indications:
• Oestrogen receptor-positive breast cancer
• Anovulatory infertility
• Primary prevention in moderate-high-risk breast cancer Contraindications:
• Pregnancy
• Breastfeeding
• High VTE risk (in primary prevention/infertility)
• Previous DVT
Key interactions:
• Anastrozole: contraindicated
• Warfarin: contraindicated if used for primary prevention
• Hormonal contraception: UKMEC4, Specialist discussion is needed if hormonal contraception is considered after 5 years cancer-free of breast cancer (UKMEC3) • HRT: avoid concurrent use Monitoring/Management:
• Stop 6 weeks before elective surgery
• Need effective contraception during and 2 months after treatment (Non-hormonal contraception preferred).
