TREATMENT PLAN
Screening eligibility:
- Ages 25-49: every 3 years
- Ages 50-64: every 5 years
- >65: only if recent abnormal cytology or last screening since age 50 Special populations:
- Transgender males with cervix: 3-5 yearly invites
- Non-binary individuals: GP invitation required
- HIV patients: screening at diagnosis, then annually
- Pre-transplant: screening 1 year prior
- Renal failure/dialysis: immediate screening Contraindications:
- Pregnancy
- <3 months postpartum
- <3 months post-abortion/miscarriage/ectopic
- Vaginal discharge
- Active infections
- Menstruation Post-treatment:
- Test of cure at 6 months
- If HPV negative: recall in 3 years
- If HPV positive: colposcopy
- If HPV is unavailable: repeat in 3 months Prevention:
- HPV vaccination for ages 12-13
- Safe sex practices

Regular screening participation
PROGNOSIS
- Low-grade lesions may progress to high-grade.
KEY INFORMATION
- Written documentation is required for screening withdrawal
- Total hysterectomy: no screening required
- Partial hysterectomy: continue screening
EXTRA’S
Transgender care:
- Transgender women are not in the screening system
- GP responsibility for managing screening in gender-reassigned individuals with the cervix.
