Treatment Plan
Antibiotics if cough <21 days:
- <1 month: Clarithromycin
- >1 year: azithromycin/clarithromycin
- Non-pregnant adults: azithromycin/clarithromycin
- Pregnant: azithromycin
- If macrolides are contraindicated: co-trimoxazole (avoid if <6 weeks or pregnant) – Prophylaxis for close contacts if the index case is symptomatic <21 days
Vaccination:
- Childhood: 6-in-1 at 2nd, 3rd, 4th month
- Maternal: 16-32 weeks (maximum by 36 weeks)
