Definition
• Eating disorders: a group of mental health conditions characterised by abnormal eating behaviours
• Types include:
• Anorexia nervosa: body dysmorphia with intense fear of weight gain
• Bulimia nervosa: recurrent binge eating (≥1/week for >3 months) with purging due to guilt
• Binge eating disorder: associated with a lack of control
• Atypical eating disorder (most common): Can closely resemble either of the above 3, but does not meet the precise diagnostic criteria
