• Short-term likely to recover spontaneously
• 20% risk of progression to chronic insomnia
Key Information
• Diagnosis requires impaired daytime functioning
• Z-drugs: risk of tolerance, dependence, withdrawal
• No driving during tired spells, erm don’t drive at least 8 hours after taking Z-drugs
• Avoid medications where possible, especially in chronic cases
