Investigations & Diagnosis
Blood tests:
Usually isolated spikes
• GGT
• MCV
Assessment:
• AUDIT questionnaire for disorder identification
• Units’ calculation: volume (mL’s) × ABV% ÷ 1000
Risk stratification:
• Low risk: ≤14 units/week, spread over 3+ days
• Hazardous: >14 units but <35 units/week (female) or <50 units/week (male)
• Harmful: direct health problems present
• Dependent: cravings and tolerance present
