Investigations & Diagnosis
- PSA testing (offered to volunteers >50 years):
- Age 40-49: >2.5 abnormal
- Age 50-59: >3.5 abnormal
o Age 60-69: >4.5 abnormal Digital rectal examination (DRE) - False positive PSA factors:
- Increased age
- BPH
o UTI - Prostatitis
o Vigorous exercise within 48h
o Ejaculation within 48h
o UTI within 6 weeks - Urethral instrumentation within 6 weeks
