Treatment Plan

1. Prompt treatment if positive
2. GUM/STI clinic referral
3. If a referral is refused, primary care treatment:
o First-line: Doxycycline for 7 days
o Second line (if contraindicated): Azithromycin, erythromycin, or ofloxacin
4. Treat both partners
5. Avoid sexual contact until both complete the treatment Follow-up:
• Test for cure: only in pregnancy
• Retesting:
o <25: 3-6 months post-treatment
o >25: only if high risk of reinfection
