Treatment Plan
Chlamydia:
- First line: doxycycline 7 days
- Second line: azithromycin/erythromycin (pregnancy) Gonococcal:
- Unknown sensitivity: IM ceftriaxone
- Known sensitivity: ciprofloxacin 500mg oral Trichomonas vaginalis:
- Metronidazole Contact tracing:
- <2 weeks: chlamydia and gonorrhoea
- <4 weeks: others
- Follow-up: 1-2 weeks if symptoms persist/reinfected If symptoms persist:
- Refer to GUM clinic
- Alternative treatment combinations:
o If doxycycline is used first: consider azithromycin + metronidazole
o If azithromycin is used first: consider moxifloxacin + metronidazole
